2022 Community Health Needs Assessment for the Genesee County/City of Flint Community

The 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for Flint and Genesee County has been completed by the Greater Flint Health Coalition, Genesee County’s three hospital systems (Ascension Genesys Hospital, Hurley Medical Center, and McLaren Flint), and the Genesee County Health Department. The 2022 CHNA identifies and prioritizes significant health needs of Flint & Genesee County residents and will inform a series of developing implementation strategies over the next three years. The CHNA provides an important opportunity for hospitals, local government, business, nonprofits, foundations, and the community at-large to improve the health of residents through collaborative initiatives, expanded community benefit programming, and enhanced coordination.

Healthy Flint & Genesee County 2020

Healthy Flint & Genesee County 2020 outlines 12 priority areas for improving health in Flint and Genesee County, as established by the Greater Flint Health Coalition’s 2020 Strategic Business Plan. In these priority areas, we outline the challenge in front of our community, and progressive action steps to create positive change that provides each resident with support, resources, and environment to practice a healthy lifestyle and live a long, healthy, happy life.

2016 Community Health Needs Assessment for the Genesee County/City of Flint Community

To better serve the Flint and Genesee County community, the area’s three hospital systems, Genesys Health System, Hurley Medical Center, and McLaren-Flint have partnered with the Greater Flint Health Coalition to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) as a federal requirement of all non-profit hospitals to better understand the communities they serve and strategically invest resources to improve the health of residents over the long-term.

Greater Flint Health Coalition County Health Rankings Action Plan / Business Case Framework (2010)

This Action Plan approved by the Greater Flint Health Coalition Board of Directors in December, 2010, outlines a ten year plan to strategically improve the health behaviors and health outcomes for Genesee County residents via coordinated, community-wide action and advocacy.
