Commit to Fit! Business-to-Business Challenge Winners Announced and New Healthy Holidays Challenge Begins

GENESEE COUNTY, MI In this seventh annual event, the Fall 4 Fitness Challenge, a community-wide, business-to-business wellness challenge took place from October 1st to October 31st. The challenge was available free-of-charge to any Flint & Genesee County business, organization, or community group interested in bringing wellness to the workplace. Last year, 110 Flint and Genesee County businesses and organizations participated.

Based on their employee participation, businesses will compete against one another to see which will be recognized and rewarded for achieving the “Highest Level of Participation” and “Highest Level of Goal Attainment” with the winners earning the Commit to Fit! distinction of the “Healthiest Business in Genesee County.” Last year’s winners included Diplomat Pharmacy, Advanced Physical Therapy Center, Genesee County Health Department, Hamilton Community Health Network, MSU Extension-Flint, Greater Flint Health Coalition, and Mott Children’s Health Center.

This year, there was a record of 131 businesses and organizations that signed up to compete in the four-week goal for each participant to practice 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Over 67% of the participants met or exceeded the total challenge goal of 1,000 minutes. In total, over 1.8 million minutes of physical activity was logged during the Fall 4 Fitness Challenge. The Commit to Fit! interactive website – www.commit2fit.com – recorded 1,468 residents are now utilizing the Commit to Fit!
