Commit to Fit College Challenge kicks off February 1st!

The Commit to Fit! College Challenge will kick off with a no-holds-barred Dodgeball Tournament Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the University of Michigan-Flint (UM-Flint) Recreation Center. Participating colleges include Mott Community College, Baker College of Flint, and the University of Michigan-Flint.

“This is a fun way to kick-off our month-long Commit to Fit! College Challenge going on through the month of February,” said Jennifer McDonald, Mott Community College (MCC) Director of Admissions & Student Success Services.

The Commit to Fit! College Challenge runs February 1st – 29th and focuses on promoting physical activity in local colleges by giving students the chance to take part in a little “healthy competition.” Sign up is free at During the month-long challenge, students are encouraged to be active for a total of 870 minutes. Students can log this activity at, via the Commit to Fit! mobile app, or by syncing their wearable fitness device.

Students that reach the goal of 870 minutes of activity will be entered into a raffle for great prizes including gift certificates and cash! The college with the highest average minutes per participant will win the Commit to Fit! College Challenge traveling trophy and bragging rights.

Past winners include UM-Flint in 2013 and 2015 and MCC in 2014.
