Community Foundation of Greater Flint Grant to Help Flint and Genesee County Residents Succeed in Healthcare Career Training

The Arthur L. Tuuri Health Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint has awarded the Greater Flint Health Coalition’s (GFHC) Flint Healthcare Employment Opportunities (FHEO) Program with a $30,000 grant.

The FHEO Program helps low-income adults and dislocated workers in Genesee County obtain employment skills, job readiness training, and the healthcare credentials required to meet the employment needs of the growing healthcare industry – both locally and nationwide. Guided by the input of local healthcare industry employers, the FHEO Program has helped over 700 Flint & Genesee County residents receive healthcare training focused on the outcome of sustainable employment.

The FHEO Program was launched by the Greater Flint Health Coalition in 2002. This grant allows the GFHC to provide FHEO Program participants with comprehensive case management services, an essential component to the success of those enrolled.
